The project "ECG Post Vaccine"
From 11 to 30 September, the ASL Città di Torino in collaboration with the Associazione Italiana Cuore e Rianimazione “Lorenzo Greco” Onlus and the support of the Fondazione La Stampa Specchio dei Tempi has made an important project to support vaccination campaign for schools and the age groups most at risk.
It gave the opportunity to perform free electrocardiograms directly in the vaccination centers of the Asl City of Turin: Lingotto, Nuvola-Lavazza, Compagnia di San Paolo.
In addition, two significant events were held with the aim of raising awareness and bringing cardiovascular prevention into the forefront: Tennis&Friends at Circolo La Stampa in Turin and World Heart Day in Piazza San Carlo of Turin where the screening opportunity was extended to all citizens.
Cardiologists from Maria Vittoria, Martini and San Giovanni Bosco Hospitals provided resting ECG reporting, performed using Biotechware Telemedicine technology.
The numbers
According to our data, the prevention campaign has had a high level of participation by citizens, with over 1500 electrocardiograms performed.
Notably, statistics showed that the age groups most affected were:
- Youth between the ages of 11 and 20, the most responsive category to the initiative, who make up 42% of the adhesions
- Over 65, these represent 27.14% of participants
- Population aged 55 to 64, they reflect a significant slice of the constituents with 17.58%
It is in addition possible to see the vaccination centers where multiple ECGs were performed and the daily trend.
Overall, this project had a significant response from citizens, this is a sign of patients’ concern for their own health and could point the way to further raise awareness of the importance of cardiovascular prevention.
Also, a new way of doing screening, closer to the patient, is shown by the innovative technologies used.
Our team is proud to have been involved in this project and to have given its contribution by providing its Telemedicine products and services. Biotechware has always been focused on improving the quality, accessibility and efficiency of care for both patients and healthcare providers.
