The SIT – Società Italiana di Telemedicina (Italian Telemedicine Society) International Congress of Bologna took place on 10 and 11 March, where all of the organisations and individuals involved discussed about Telemedicine, new technologies, new guidelines, and how to move in the future in order to organise the National Healthcare System in a uniform way.
More information about the event is available in the full programme.
Thanks to the Comarch Italia invitation and collaboration, Biotechware attended the event and had the opportunity to present its latest project: remote patient monitoring.
Dr. Sebastiano Marra, Chief Emeritus of Cardiology at the Città della Salute e della Scienza AOU in Turin, Director of the Cardiovascular Department at the Maria Pia Hospital GVM in Turin, and Medical Advisor for Biotechware Telemedicine Solutions, presented the talk ‘The role of Telemedicine in post-operative cardiac surgery and discharge management of patients with heart failure’ on 10 March.
The talk underlined the key role that patient management plays in the treatment of heart failure, and how telehealth is an essential ally in this, quoting Dr Marra: ‘The treatment of heart failure can be achieved through early diagnosis, correct therapeutic grading, and rigorous monitoring: only through continuous and punctual evaluation and correction of the parameters that qualify it can be treated.’
Also during the talk, Prof. Marra illustrated Biotechware’s new remote patient monitoring solution.
Telehealth services is increasingly becoming central to the National Health System and, in this perspective, providing new services and working on new projects is necessary for us to meet the needs of patients and care-givers.
Our latest service implanted, remote patient monitoring, is designed for healthcare facilities such as clinics and private hospitals. The aim is to allow the facility to monitor the patient’s health status remotely in order to reduce mortality and possible re-hospitalisation.
The aim is always to improve the patient care pathway and allow equal access to care.
