Telemedicine has a fundamental role in facilitating citizens’ access to certain first and second level health services, eliminating tiring and costly trips to the hospital and reducing the costs incurred by the citizen. The provision of Telemedicine services is in line with the evolution of the Service Pharmacy because its widespread distribution – even in rural areas – and opening hours make it the ideal place of control for the citizen. In this context, the execution of an electrocardiogram (ECG) in the pharmacy with remote reporting, represents an innovative and effective way to improve patient care. In this perspective, Federfarma Brescia has in place a collaboration with Biotechware that provides remote referral and teleconsultation services through a Cloud platform that allows pharmacies to provide cardiology telemedicine services with high standards of quality and safety and low costs.
